Hubert Schwarz (extreme athlete)

Hubert Schwarz (born December 28, 1954 in Spalt ) is a German extreme athlete, author, speaker and mental coach for sport and management as well as entrepreneur in the field of dietary supplements. Schwarz began his professional career as a retail salesman. He later switched to social education and worked as a district youth worker in the Franconian region .

Sporting successes

From 1987 to 1989, Schwarz took part in various Ironman competitions. In 1988 he set his personal best at Ironman Europe with 9:43:23 hours (81st place). Since 1990 he has been looking for challenges on even longer distances and took part in Ultraman Hawaii in 1990 and in the Race Across America in 1991, 1992 and 1994 . In doing so, he set several records on ultra-long bike routes that were rarely ridden until then, for example in 1993 on the Route des Grandes Alpes , in 1993 with All around Australia and in 1995 when crossing Australia. Schwarz is still active as an extreme athlete to this day (2014), often for charitable purposes.

By 1998 Hubert Schwarz had earned over DM 1.5 million for the benefit of various children's aid institutions. In March 1998 he and his wife founded what is now the Hubert & Renate Schwarz Foundation, which until 2014 had donated over 2 million euros to children's aid projects all over the world. In 2014, Hubert Schwarz received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon for social commitment for his social activities.
