Kelly Chen
Kelly Chen ( Chinese 陳慧琳 , Pinyin Chén Hùi Lín , Cantonese Chan Wai Lam ; born September 13, 1972 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese singer ( cantopop ) and actress, best known in Hong Kong .
Life
Kelly Chen went to elementary school in Hong Kong and then to the Kobe Canadian Academy High School in Japan . She graduated from the Parsons School of Design in New York City as a graphic designer .
In addition to Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China , it is also known in Taiwan , Japan, and among mostly Chinese immigrants in North America .
As a Hong Kong Chinese, her mother tongue is Cantonese . She is also fluent in Standard Chinese , Japanese , English and Korean .
Names
As a born Hong Kong Chinese, her real name is pronounced in Cantonese Chan Wai Lam . Many internationally active Chinese also give themselves an English name that is easier to pronounce for non-Chinese.
