Chen Qian (modern pentathlete)

Chen Qian ( Chinese  陈倩 ; born January 14, 1987 in Suzhou ) is a Chinese pentathlete .

Career

She won numerous medals at world championships . At the 2009 World Championships , she immediately won the individual title. With the relay she won bronze in 2010 and silver in 2012 . In 2012 she also won bronze with the team and was runner-up in the individual world championship. The following year, 2013 , the team won silver. In 2014 she was successful in all three disciplines: again she won the runner-up in the individual world championship, while she secured the title both with the team and in the relay competition. With the relay, the title was defended in 2015 , in the individual she had to settle for silver again. She won her last medal so far in 2016 with team silver .

Chen won the gold medal with the team at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou . Four years later she also won the individual competition . She also won bronze with the team.

At both the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012 , she finished the individual competition in fifth place in the overall ranking. In 2016 she finished fourth at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. However, because of a positive doping test for hydrochlorothiazide , she was disqualified and Annika Schleu moved up to fourth place.
