Chen Wu ( Chinese  陈 武  /  陈 武 , Pinyin Chén Wǔ ; born November 1954 in Chongzuo , Guangxi Province ) is a Chinese politician. He is the deputy head of the Communist Party of the Guangxi Autonomous Region and chairman (equivalent to a provincial governor) of the region. He is a member of the Zhuang minority .

Life

Chen Wu is from Chongzuo, Guangxi. He joined the workforce in October 1972 and worked at a rice factory in Nanning , capital of Guangxi. He joined the Chinese Communist Party in February 1975. Chen enrolled in Guangxi University in January 1978 and earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy in 1982 .

After graduating, Chen spent his entire career in the Guangxi government. In December 2005, he was promoted to vice chairman of Guangxi, and in September 2011 he became head of the Communist Party of the regional capital, Nanning. Chen Wu was named vice chairman and deputy chief of the Guangxi Communist Party in March 2013, and was appointed chairman the following month.

Chen is an alternate member of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
