Cherie Currie (born November 30, 1959 in Los Angeles ) is an American actress and singer .

Life and accomplishments

Currie became a singer with the musical group The Runaways in the 1970s . She made her debut as an actress in the drama Jeanie's Clique (1980), in which she played the role of the drug addict Annie , a friend of Jeanie ( Jodie Foster ). In the science fiction horror film The Killer Parasite (1982), she played alongside Demi Moore . In the science fiction film Wavelength (1983) she took on one of the leading roles alongside Robert Carradine . In the comedy The Rosebud Beach Hotel (1984) she appeared on the side of Christopher Lee and Fran Drescher ; her twin sister Marie Currie can also be seen in this film.

Currie was married to actor Robert Hays from 1990 to 1997 and has one child. She currently works as a visual artist and in that capacity founded the Chainsaw Art Gallery in Chatsworth , California .
