Robert Hays
Robert Hays (born July 24, 1947 in Bethesda , Maryland ) is an American actor .
Career
After graduating from San Diego State University , Hays began working as an actor in San Francisco . From the mid-1970s he was regularly seen in television roles, for example as Dr. Benson in the sitcom Angie . In Germany, Hays was mainly through the comedies The unbelievable journey in a crazy plane and The unbelievable journey in a crazy spaceship , in which he as pilot Ted Striker has to save the respective plane from crashing. After these successes he could possibly have become a bigger star, but his subsequent movies were mostly of poor quality and not as successful.
He took another well-known role in the science fiction - television series The Man from Another Planet (Engl. Starman ), based on the eponymous movie with Jeff Bridges he called the "alien father" of where Scott Hayden (played by CB Barnes plays) . In 1989 he starred in the short-lived series FB about the owner of a radio station. In the 1990s he played more often in family-friendly films, best known among them probably the Disney film Back Home - The Incredible Journey from 1993. Since the turn of the millennium, the roles for Hays have increasingly diminished and he only appears occasionally in front of the camera. sometimes in self-parodic roles like in Sharknado 2 from 2014.
From 1990 until their divorce in 1997, Hays was married to the musician Cherie Currie , with whom he has a son. In German-speaking countries, the voice actor Randolf Kronberg lent him his voice.
