Cherut - HaTnu'a HaLeumit ( Hebrew חרות - התנועה הלאומית 'Freedom - The National Movement' ) is a nationalist party in Israel . She regards herself as the successor to the former Cherut party.
history
The party was founded on 23 February 1999, when Benny Begin , Michael Kleiner and David Re'em during the Israeli parliamentary elections in 1996 for the 14th Knesset the Likud left. On February 1, 2000 Michael Kleiner left the National Union by forming the Herut party as an independent party in the Knesset. In the Israeli parliamentary elections in 2003 , the party was alone. It chose the lettersנץ, translated “ hawk ”, and used the slogan “the 'hawk' on the right”. The party only achieved 1.1%. Herut again took part in the Israeli general election in 2006 , again with the lettersנץ. This time Michael Kleiner was accompanied by Elie Yossef and Israel Cohen . The party list was as follows:
- Michael Kleiner
- Yehoshua Meiri
- Avraham Marom
- Yana Chudriker-Knafo ( Miss Israel 1993)
- Yisrael Cohen
- Eli Yosef
- Mordechai Twersky
- Arkady Pugatch
- Yael Amishav-Medved
- Daniel Moshe Zvi Pinner
- Ilia Vasiliev
- Osnat Lieberman
- Aharon Cohen
- Pavel Barsky
In the elections, the party only achieved 0.07% and thus did not exceed the 2% threshold. Before the Israeli parliamentary elections in 2009 , Michael Kleiner and Benny Begin went over to Likud and the party no longer ran independently.
