Chester W. Schaeffer
Chester W. Schaeffer (born September 9, 1902 in New York City , † January 5, 1992 in Santa Clara , California ) was an American film editor .
Life
Schaeffer began working in the field of film editing in the early 1940s . Occasionally he was also involved in television productions.
Starting with City in Turmoil in 1951, he worked closely with director Russell Rouse on several films . Their last joint production was Die Bankräuberbande from 1967.
In 1952, Schaeffer was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Editing category for his work on the film Stadt in Aufruhr . In 1955 he received an Emmy nomination .
