Chi Mei Corporation

The Chi Mei Corporation ( Sino  奇美實業廠 , Pinyin Qimei shiye Chǎng , CMC) is a plastics manufacturer in Taiwan and the world's largest manufacturer of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene . In 1999 one million tons were produced - more than all Japanese producers put together. The factories are located in Tainan ( Rende District ) and Zhenjiang . He also produces styrene-acrylic-nitrile , polystyrene , polymethyl methacrylate , thermoplastic elastomers and synthetic fibers . The company was founded in 1960 by Shi Wen-long under the name Chi Mei Industrial Company Ltd. and was the first polymethyl methacrylate processing company in Taiwan. In 1992 it was renamed the Chi Mei Corporation .

The Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) was established in 1997 as a subsidiary of CMC. The Chi Mei Group (CMG) is a private company and the largest shareholder in Chi Mei Optoelectronics. The CMO is Taiwan's second largest manufacturer of TFT - LCD elements and the fourth largest in the world. and the owner of Westinghouse Digital Electronics .

The Chi Mei Industrial Factory (cMIF) was reported by Hsu Wen-lung founded for the production of polystyrene in 1968 and has a partnership with the Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation of Japan of 27.08 percent. In 2001, CMC founded a subsidiary ( International Display Technology , IDTech, "International Display Technology ") in Japan in cooperation with IBM , which was sold to Sony in 2005 .
