Chichester Alexander Bell
Chichester Alexander Bell (* 1848 in Dublin , † 1924 in Oxford ) was an Irish chemist and inventor who was involved in the further development of the phonograph invented by Thomas Alva Edison , together with Charles Sumner Tainter , and in this context, was instrumental in the development of the graphophone contributed.
Life
Chichester Alexander Bell was born in Dublin in 1848 to David Charles Bell and Ellen Adine Highland and first cousin of Alexander Graham Bell . Bell began studying medicine at Trinity College Dublin , graduating in 1869.
In 1881, Bell, together with Charles Sumner Tainter, was an employee of the Volta Prize founded by Alexander Graham Bell in the same year and financed by the French Académie des sciences for the invention of the telephone, endowed with 10,000 US dollars - 50,000 francs Volta Laboratory and henceforth participated on the one hand in the development of the photophone and on the other hand in that of the graphophone. These development activities resulted in several patents that were granted to Bell either alone or jointly. In this context, Bell decides, together with his cousin and Charles Sumner Tainter, to found the Volta Graphophone Co. , which should be responsible for the marketing of the same patents.
He married Antoinette Ives in 1889 in Montreal, Canada and died in 1924 at Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford .

Chichester A. Bell, along with Charles Sumner Tainter and his cousin Alexander Graham Bell, is considered to be one of the fathers of the graphophone, as he was instrumental in its development.
