The Taiwanese company Chieftec Industrial Co. Ltd. is a global manufacturer of computer - and server - enclosures , PC power supplies and PC fans . Chieftec was founded in 1990. In addition to production in Taiwan, there have also been two plants in Guangdong and Zhejiang in the People's Republic of China since 1998 . In 1994/1995 a German branch and European headquarters was established under the name Arena Electronic GmbH in Düsseldorf , which was relocated to Ratingen at the end of 2004 .
Chieftec is one of the market leaders in computer cases. In 2004 the company with 5,800 employees achieved a global market share of 9.7%. The company produces almost all parts of the housings supplied - including fans - itself. However, power supplies are only imported and relabeled.
