Chienlite

La Chienlit is at the Maiunruhen 1968 in France as a French President Charles de Gaulle made famous used political battle cry, does the chaos and about with shit in bed can be translated (also ajar to the spelling incorrect translation as a dog bed - dog bed comes in front). De Gaulle is credited with the statement in May 1968: La réforme, oui; la chienlit, non. In response to de Gaulle's utterance, posters were posted : La chienlit, c'est lui! The phrase La chienlit c'est lui was used by the journalist François Ruffin on the French television channel BFM TV in reference to Emmanuel Macron . Even Nicolas Sarkozy has used the term.

etymology

Chienlictz in Gargantua

The term goes back to a Parisian carnival figure who alludes to its disguise (nightgown with mustard-smeared bottom). In literature it appears for the first time in 1534 in the Gargantua by François Rabelais in the spelling Chienlictz . The term la chienlit was picked up by Émile Zola , among others . De Gaulle is credited with the sentence uttered in August 1944 on the Champs-Élysées in Paris and addressed to Georges Bidault : Alors, Bidault, c'est la chienlit!
