history
Children 18: 3 was founded in 1999 by the brothers David ( electric guitar ) and Seth Hostetter ( drums ) together with three friends on electric bass , trumpet and saxophone as a ska band. The name Children 18: 3 refers to the Gospel of Matthew where it says:
"Truly, I tell you, if you do not repent and become like children, you will in no way enter the kingdom of heaven."
Already in 2001 the bassist and the winds left the group and David and Seth Hostetter's sister Lee-Marie took over the bass. Children 18: 3 was oriented musically to go to punk rock and published in 2004 the first demo - EP Places I Do not Want to Go . In 2005 the band won a local Minneapolis music competition and was given the opportunity to record in a recording studio for free. There the next EP Songs of Desperation was created , which was released in 2006. Children 18: 3 sent a copy of the sound carrier to Brandon Ebel of Tooth & Nail , who had already seen them as a judge at the band competition. In January 2007 Tooth & Nail signed the group.
In February 2008, the debut album Children 18: 3 was released , with which the band entered the Top Heatseekers at number 23. This was followed by tours in support of Norma Jean and Haste the Day , and in 2009 the band performed for the first time at Christmas Rock Night . In June 2010 the second album Rain's A Comin 'followed . The band shot music videos for the singles All My Balloons are Poppin (2008) and Cover Your Eyes (2010) . In June 2012, the third studio album On the Run was released , it reached number 27 in the Top Heatseekers.
