China Kantner
China Wing Kantner (born January 25, 1971 in San Francisco , California ) is an American actress , songwriter and singer .
Life
The daughter of Jefferson Airplane co- founder Paul Kantner and Airplane singer Grace Slick began working as a video jockey for MTV at the age of 15 . In 1994 she made her first appearance as an actress when she in James Melkonians comedy The Stoned Age the role of Jill Wajakawakawitz played. After a few more appearances in films like Grace of My Heart and television series like Listen, Who's That Hammering , she gave up acting to start studying.
She has also made several contributions as a songwriter and singer for Jefferson Starship over the years . Even so, she says of herself that she has no real musical aspirations because she feels that she can't sing very well.
