Chip Ganassi
Floyd "Chip" Ganassi (born May 24, 1958 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ) is a former American racing driver and now the owner of a racing team.
Career
Ganassi got into the Champ Car series as a driver in 1981 and took part in the 500-mile race in Indianapolis five times , where he finished eighth as the best result in 1983.
After his active career was ended by an injury, Ganassi bought into Pat Patrick's team in 1988. A few years later he founded his own team Chip Ganassi Racing with the main sponsor Target , with whom he competes in NASCAR , the Indy Racing League and the Champ Cars.
Ganassi has made a name for himself in the international motorsport scene as a discoverer of promising talents. So he celebrated z. B. in the Champ Car series with the rookies Alex Zanardi , Juan Pablo Montoya and Bruno Junqueira great successes.
