The Chirality Medal has been awarded by the Società Chimica Italiana since 1991 . This science award honors internationally recognized chemists who have made important and recognized contributions to the understanding of chirality . The prize is awarded annually, with the selection of the winners being made by the Chirality Medal Honor Committee, to which the winners from previous years belong. The award ceremony takes place on the occasion of the annual "International Conference on Chirality".
