geography
The 31.5 km long and 3.1 km wide valley glacier has its nutrient area 20.5 km north of Regal Mountain at an altitude of 2600 m . It initially flows in an easterly direction. The 2230 m high Chisana Pass separates the glacier from the Whiskey Hill Glacier to the south . The Chisana Glacier turns northeast at the height of the Chisana Pass. It picks up tribute glaciers on both sides and passes the Jumpoff Icefall steep section . In the last few kilometers, the Chisana Glacier turns east and ends at an altitude of about 1000 m at a glacial edge lake , which forms the origin of the Chisana River , not far from the abandoned settlement of Chisana . The Chisana Glacier is in retreat.
