Regal Mountain is a 4220 m high stratovolcano in the Wrangell Mountains near the Alaska border with the Canadian Yukon Territory .
Regal Mountain is 19 miles east of Mount Blackburn and 23 miles north of McCarthy in Wrangell St. Elias National Park .
The mountain is almost completely covered by ice. On the eastern flank are the Rohn and Regal glaciers . The Root Glacier flows 15 miles south where it meets the Kennicott Glacier . The largest, over 5 km wide glacier on the flanks of Regal Mountain is unnamed and flows 16 km to the northwest into the Nabesna Glacier .
Regal Mountain is located in the catchment area of Copper and Yukon River , in the Gulf of Alaska or the Bering Sea flow.
The first ascent took place on August 3, 1964 by Yasuichi Kitamura, Ryoichi Hasegawa, Masao Tanaka and Shinichi Naito.
The name of the mountain was first mentioned in 1899 by the United States Geological Survey .
