Cho Jeong-ki (born in Gwangju Province , South Korea ) is a South Korean opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Cho was a finalist of the Cologne International Singing Competition and recipient of numerous other prizes. He gained his first major experience on the opera stage and as an oratorio singer v. a. in South Korea, e.g. B. as Mengone in Joseph Haydn's Lo spezial and as Don José in Georges Bizet's Carmen , as well as with the tenor solo in Georg Friedrich Handel's Messiah and Ludwig van Beethoven's Christ on the Mount of Olives .

Since the 2008/09 season, Cho has been a member of the international opera studio of the Cologne Opera . a. as Yamadori in Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly and young sailor in Richard Wagner's Tristan und Isolde as well as in productions of the children's opera.
