Cho Kuk (born April 6, 1965 in Busan , South Korea ) is a South Korean politician . He served as Justice Minister in the government of Moon Jae-in from September to October 2019 .

Before entering politics, Cho was a professor of law at Seoul National University .

In late 2019, Cho was embroiled in a number of months of controversy, including allegations of illegal business activity and falsification of his daughter's academic achievements. Cho himself previously appeared as an opponent for privileges of the upper class . On October 14, Cho Kuk announced his resignation from the Justice Minister on charges of corruption. His wife, Chung Kyung-shim, is also involved in the allegations and has been arrested in connection with the charges.

On December 31, 2019, charges against him were filed by South Korean prosecutors.
