Chodjali monument

«Chodjali» ( aserb . Xocalı ) is a memorial to the victims of the massacre in Chodjali . It is in the Berlin district of Zehlendorf in the reading garden of the Gottfried Benn Library. The designers of the monument are the Azerbaijani artists Akif Əsgərov, Əli İbadullayev, İbrahim Əhrari and Səlhab Məmmədov.

The sculpture was unveiled on May 30, 2011. District Councilor Cerstin-Ullrike Richter-Kotowski spoke a greeting and honored the artists. The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan , Pərviz Şahbazov , and the Deputy Minister for Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ədalət Vəliyev, were invited. District mayor Norbert Kopp , district councilor Uwe Stäglin and numerous district councilors were present from the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district.

The bronze stands for hope for a peaceful future for the peoples.
