Cerstin-Ullrike Richter-Kotowski (born April 14, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German administrative lawyer and politician ( CDU ). She has been the district mayor of the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf since November 2016 .

biography

After graduating from the Droste-Hülshoff-Gymnasium in Zehlendorf in 1981, she studied law at the Free University of Berlin from 1981 to 1988 and passed the first state examination in 1988 and the second in 1991. In 1991 she joined the public service of the State of Berlin and was most recently a magistrate in the Neukölln district office. Since 2006 she has been the district councilor for education, culture and citizen services in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district . After the district council election in 2011, she was re-elected as a city councilor and also received the sports and education department in her area of ​​responsibility.

Richter-Kotowski is married and has one son. She was the daughter-in-law of the university professor and CDU politician Georg Kotowski (1920–1999).

politics

Richter-Kotowski joined the Junge Union in 1978 and in 1979 the CDU and the Women's Union . From 1985 to 1992 she was a district councilor in the Steglitz district and from 1988 to 1991 a member of the federal board of the Junge Union. She was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1992 to 2001, 2005 to 2006 and 2011 . She was re-elected in October 2006, but left after just one month on November 17th because she had become a district councilor in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. In addition, she has been chairwoman of the CDU local branch Steglitz-Zentrum since 2009. In the 2011 parliamentary elections , she won the direct mandate for the constituency of Steglitz-Zehlendorf 1 , but gave up in November 2011 in favor of her renewed election as district councilor in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. Stefan Schlede has moved into the Berlin House of Representatives for Cerstin Richter-Kotowski from the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district list .

On November 9, 2016, Richter-Kotowski was elected district mayor of Steglitz-Zehlendorf as the successor to Norbert Kopp in the first ballot by the district council and is therefore also head of the finance, human resources, urban development and economic development department of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district office.

In addition, she has been deputy state chairwoman of the Berlin CDU since 2015. Until then, she had been a member of the CDU Berlin's state executive committee since 2013.
