The Chombu is a mountain in the Himalayas in the northeast of Sikkim in India .
The Chombu has a mountain ridge running in north-south direction, the maximum height of which is 6362 m . The Chombu is located 9.8 km south of the Kangchengyao . In between lies the 5,352 m high Sebu La mountain pass . On the eastern flank of the Chombu, a glacier flows in an easterly and later in a southerly direction. To the west of the Chombu runs the Lachen Chu river valley , to the east that of the Lachung Chu .
Ascent history
The Chombu was first climbed on October 13, 1961 by Devi Singh, Pemba Gyaltzen and Nima Tsering, participants in an Indian expedition to Kangchengyao.
