The Chone Monastery or Jonê Monastery ( co ne dgon chen or co ne dgon chen dga 'ldan bshad sgrub gling ) is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Jonê County ( Chone ; Zhuoni ) in the Gannan der Autonomous District Tibetans in the southwest of Gansu Province ( Amdo ). A small Nyingma monastery was originally located on the site . A Sakya monastery was later built here , which eventually became a Gelug monastery in 1459 . It was the place of activity ofGelugpa -Lamas Dragpa Shedrub ( grags pa bshad sgrub ; 1675-1748). The monastery is a famous traditional Tibetan printing place . One of the thirteen editions of the Tibetan Buddhist Canon was printed here.
