Chopda is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra . The city is located on the banks of the Ratnavati River .
The city is part of the Jalgaon District . Chopda has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 27 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 72,783 inhabitants, of which 37,601 were men and 35,182 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 66%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.6%, well above the national average.
Chopda is dominated by agriculture. Produced sugar cane , cotton , bananas , legumes and poultry . Chopda is also home to several industrial projects, including a sugar factory and several textile factories.
