The vocal ensemble Chorona (proper spelling CHORONA) is a 15-member chamber choir from Aschaffenburg . Chorona is dedicated to a cappella singing from ars antiqua to contemporary vocal music .

The Chorona vocal ensemble was founded in 1999 by the Aschaffenburg singing teacher Patricia Kunze-Lippert. The ensemble consists of eight female voices and seven male voices.

repertoire

The Chorona repertoire includes choral and solo elements. It spans from the music of the early Middle Ages (z. B. Pérotin ) to representatives of Renaissance music (eg. As Orlando di Lasso , Josquin Desprez , Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina ) to modern vocal music (eg. As Hugo Distler ).

Concerts

The vocal ensemble Chorona has been organizing the concert series "Concert in the Park" in Aschaffenburg for ten years, with performances in the Schönbusch Park . Chorona occurs mainly in the Untermain region, but also in the entire German-speaking area, u. a. also with guest artists such as the flamenco guitarist Rafael Cortés or the brass ensemble Klassik in Blech . Press reports on the vocal ensemble appear regularly in regional and national newspapers as well as in internet newspapers.
