Chris Bucher (born October 28, 1987 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss actor , writer and director .

Life

From 2008 to 2011, Bucher completed an acting training at the EFAS ( European Film Actor School ) in Zurich , which he rounded off with stunt training with former Swiss Kung Fu world champion Andy Kunz. Encouraged by his experience in numerous projects in the field of film, theater and opera, Bucher realized as a director and supporting actor in the years 2011 to 2013 crowdfunding -financed his first full-length feature film, the Swiss mystery thriller Tyfelstei , which took place on April 8, 2014 in Lucerne It premiered and was shown in over 20 cinemas across Switzerland by 2015. Several well-known Swiss actors such as Walter Andreas Müller , Hansjörg Betschart and Isabelle Flachsmann could be seen in the film.

From the summer of 2014 he worked on the short film The Lost Valley , a free film adaptation of Joseph Conrad 's novel Heart of Darkness . The film was shot in Indonesia and Switzerland and premiered in Lucerne in November 2017. In addition to the script, Bucher also contributed the puppet effects, inspired by the work of Roger Dicken .

Bucher worked, among other things, as an advertising copywriter in a marketing agency and as a projectionist in Lucerne's city cinemas.
