Rana Tokmak

Rana Tokmak (born July 16, 1996 in Castrop-Rauxel ) is a German rhythmic gymnast . She started singles for TV Wattenscheid 01 . From 2013 to 2016 she trained with the national team group at the federal base in Fellbach .

career

Junior area

In 2009 Rana Tokmak started as a junior at the German Championships for the first time and became German champion in the all-around competition and with the ball in the 13-year-olds. With the rope, the hoop and the clubs she was German runner-up behind Lea Godejohann.

In 2010 Tokmak again achieved the title of German youth champion in the all-around competition at the German Youth Championships for 14-year-olds, as well as with the rope, the hoop and the ball. With the clubs, she took third place. In addition, she was nominated as reserve gymnast for the Junior European Championships in Bremen that year .

In 2011 she won the national qualification for the Junior European Championships in Minsk with the junior group of the RSG Rhein Ruhr , where the formation took 13th place. Therefore, she was unable to take part in the German individual championships.

Senior area

Tokmak has started in the senior division since 2012 and was able to celebrate the German runner-up title immediately on her debut in the master class. In the device finals she was third with the hoop, the ball and the clubs, and fourth with the tape.

At the beginning of 2013, Rana Tokmak moved to the federal base in Fellbach near Stuttgart and thus became part of the national team group. At the World Championships in Kiev in the same year she reached ninth place in the all-around and seventh place in the club final with the newly formed German group, which included Tokmak, Judith Hauser , Anastasia Kempf , Anastasija Khmelnytska , Daniela Potapova and Sara Radman .

At the 2014 European Championships in Baku , the group with Hauser, Khmelnytska, Nicole Müller , Potapova and Tokmak finished eleventh in the all-around competition and eighth in the final with ten clubs. In the same year Rana started with Julia Stavickaja , Darja Sajfutdinova , Judith Hauser, Anastasija Khmelnytska and Daniela Potapova at the world championships in Izmir. They were also ninth in the all-around competition and seventh in the club final. In 2015 the German national team took part in the European Games . They finished 8th in the all-around competition and fourth place with five ribbons.

In the same year Tokmak was named captain of the national team and the group took part in the home world championships in Stuttgart, where they just missed direct Olympic qualification in the all-around with 10th place.

In 2016, the team with Rana Tokmak as the main line-up took part in the 2nd Olympic qualifications in Rio de Janeiro, the so-called " test events ", and then qualified with the gold medal for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil.

Tokmak announced her resignation from the team in July 2016, officially ending her athletic career as a competitive athlete.

Others

From the end of 2012 to 2015, Tokmak was the ambassador of the project "spin - sport interkulturell", which campaigned for the integration, especially of young women and girls, through sport. She has been the official integration ambassador of the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2016 and continues to do voluntary work for integration through sport.

With her quote "For those who have a home, every trip is an enrichment." Rana Tokmak was part of the "Inspiration" project of the KulturRegion Stuttgart along with Bosch, Daimler and Friedrich Schiller.

In addition, Tokmak took part in the "European Youth Art Exhibition" in 2012, 2014 and 2016 three times in a row with her paintings.
