Chris Cross (dancer)

Chris Cross (* 1994 in Villach , Austria ; real name Christopher Woschitz) is an Austrian dancer. He was ten-time Austrian national champion and seven-time European and world champion in urban dance ( locking , popping , breaking ). As a dance teacher , he teaches at the Santner dance school in Wels and at the SEAD in Salzburg.

Life

Christopher Woschitz was born in 1994 in Villach in the federal state of Carinthia and grew up in the market town of Arnoldstein . At the age of 10 he started dancing at the Valeina Dance Academy at the request of his mother. He started with jazz and tap dance . After two years he discovered his passion for the dance style Breaking and switched the dance class to Hip Hop. After the first small appearances in the community, he took part in show dance championships with the help of the Valeina dance school. At the Austrian Showdance Championship in 2008 he met his future mentor Patrick Grigo . Patrick Grigo promoted him and often invited him to his dance events in Burghausen , Germany . This gave him access to the hip-hop scene . Through numerous dance courses, workshops and dance camps, he learned from successful and well-known dancers from all over the world. A big influence came from the hip-hop dancer Niels Robitzky . Woschitz occupied himself more and more intensively with urban dance styles. Over the next decade, he won many championship titles in urban dance styles. He moved to Salzburg in 2014 and started his own business as a professional dancer in 2016. Since then he has been booked by well-known companies for special occasions and appears at their events. Today he dances on large national and international stages and has smaller television appearances.
