Career

Newton was able to win a WTA double title during her tennis career. In 1979 she reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open in doubles. She lost this at the side of doubles partner Jenny Walker against the eventual winners Judy Chaloner / Diane Evers with 6: 3, 1: 6, [8:10].
