Chris Opie (* 22. July 1987 in Truro , County Cornwall ) was a British road racing cyclist.

Career

In 2008 Chris Opie won the third stage of the Ronde van de Provincie Antwerp in Vorselaar, Belgium . In the 2010 season he drives for the amateur team Pendragon-Le Col-Colnago. At the Tour of Libya he finished second behind the winner Abdelbasset Hannachi in the second stage and he won the fourth and fifth stages. Two days later he also won the Libyan one-day race Grand Prix of Al Fatah . In 2012, Opie won a stage in the Tour of Jamtland and finished fifth overall. In 2015, he took second stage twice in the Ronde van Midden-Nederland . In 2016 he won the second stage of the Tour de Korea and was able to win two stages and the overall ranking of the Ronde van Midden-Nederland. He was also fourth on the 2nd stage of the Tour de Yorkshire . In 2017 he was able to reach 3rd place on the 1st stage of the Tour de Yorkshire. After the season he ended his sporting career.

After his professional career, Opie was a presenter on the Global Cycling Network , a YouTube channel dedicated to cycling.
