Chris Rankin

Christopher William Rankin (born November 8, 1983 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand actor . He became known for his role as Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.

biography

Rankin grew up in Auckland until he was 6 years old; then he moved with his family to Norfolk (Great Britain). At the age of 11 he discovered his love for acting at the local high school, when he took on the role of "Corpse" in Bugsy Malone and also supported the play with vocals. He then played "Edmund" in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe . In the years that followed, he worked with Northgate High School and the Dereham Operatic Society Youth Theater until he auditioned for the role of opinionated "Percy Weasley" in 2000, which brought Rankin to worldwide fame. According to Rankin, he and the character in Joanne K. Rowling's novel series "Harry Potter" do not have much in common - only the pronounced sense of perfection and the reddish hair apply to both. Rankin appeared on television as "Waring" in the BBC production The Rotter's Club , and in Victoria Cross Heroes as "Henry Evelyn Wood". He has also been a guest on numerous TV shows, for example Newsround or Ministry of Mayhem . But Chris Rankin also proves his acting talent on stage with his recent success in Cinderella as "Dandini". In 2016 he played Mycroft Holmes in the Sherlock parody on the Youtube channel Hillywood.
