Chris Riddell

Christopher Barry Riddell OBE (born April 13, 1962 in South Africa ) is a British draftsman and book illustrator . After studying illustration in Brighton , England , where he still lives today, he illustrated numerous literary works, including several books by Terry Pratchett , with his characteristic drawings. He also works alternately with colleagues as a political cartoonist for the renowned British daily newspaper The Guardian .

Since 2001, Riddell has worked with writer Paul Stewart on several works, including The Cliff Country Chronicles and The Heroes of Muddy Earth .

At the turn of the year on December 31, 2018, he was honored by the British Queen as Officer of the Order of the British Empire .
