Christopher Kenneth Volstad (born September 23, 1986 in Palm Beach Gardens , Florida ) is an American baseball player in the Korea Baseball Organizationl | KBO.

Volstad was selected 16th in the MLB Draft by the Florida Marlins in 2005 . He started the first season in the marlin farm system for the Gulf Coast League Marlins and the Jamestown Jammers . From 2006 to 2007, Volstad quickly rose to the marlin farm team. About the Jupiter Hammerheads and the Greensboro Grasshoppers he got to the Double-A Carolina Mudcats . There he played in 2008 until his call to the Major League. He made his debut as a relief pitcher against the Colorado Rockies on July 6, 2008. His good performance in the bullpen together with his consistency and endurance brought him his first start as a starting pitcher a week later. With 8 2/3 innings he was only missing a complete game against the Los Angeles Dodgers . In the same game, he also had his first MLB hit. His potential as the top-rated newcomer to the Marlins at the time, he demonstrated in Florida’s 3–0 win over the Philadelphia Phillies , when he kept the Phillies’s number one starter, Cole Hamels , in check, didn’t suffer a Phillies run . and scored his third victory in the Major Leagues. Volstad stayed in the starting rotation until the end of the season and is also scheduled to start in 2009.
