Chris White (bassist, 1943)
Chris White (* 7. March 1943 in Barnet , London , as Christopher Taylor White ) is an English rock musician (bass, vocals), songwriter and music producer . He was best known as a member of the band The Zombies .
biography
Born in Barnet , a borough of London , White grew up in Markyate , where his parents had a shop.
As the bassist for the Zombies, White was one of the group's two songwriters alongside Rod Argent . He wrote two pieces for the soundtrack of the film Bunny Lake Has Disappeared (1965), Nothing's Changed and Remember You . His song I Love You , originally recorded by the Zombies in 1965, was a hit for the band People in 1968 ! .
After the Zombies disbanded in 1968, White wrote and produced material for Colin Blunstone and Rod Argents new band Argent . With Rod Argent, he wrote the Argent hit Hold Your Head Up , # 5 in both England and America.
White later worked as an A&R manager. With his brother Matthew White he founded the band White Circle. In 1990 there was a brief reunion of some of the original Zombies members, including White. From 2008 the still living original zombies appeared together again.
