Christa Nebenführ (born August 6, 1960 in Vienna ) is an Austrian writer , actress and journalist .

Life

In the early 1980s Christa Nebenführ worked as an actress at various state theaters in the Federal Republic of Germany , attended George Tabori at the Münchner Kammerspiele in 1985 and then worked in the independent Viennese scene as an actor, director and dramaturge for text versions. From 1993 to 2005 she and her husband wrote the weekly “Kinderkram” column in the Austrian daily Kurier . A study of philosophy , which was financed by means of a job in Vienna's first clubbing ( "Soul Seduction"), she graduated in 1996 with Rudolf Burger with honors and completed it through a period of study as a research associate at the Philosophy Department of the State University of New York at Stony Brook .

In her works she ironically addresses “the shameful difference between art and life” (Adorno). She is represented with essays and reviews in various print media, writes radio features and works as a cultural mediator (since 2003 summer reading series at Café Prückel, head of various writing groups). She is a member of GAV, IG Authors and board member of the Podium literature group .

Christa Nebenführ lives in Vienna with her husband, television editor Dominik Hillisch , and their two daughters (born in 1998 and 2000) .
