Christa Vladyka (born December 4, 1955 in Köflach ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Vladyka was a member of the Lower Austria state parliament from 1996 to 2008 and a member of the Federal Council from 2008 to 2009 and was again a member of the state parliament from 2009 to 2018.

education and profession

Vladyka attended elementary school in Köflach from 1962 to 1966 and subsequently graduated from the local secondary school by 1970. Then she changed from 1970 to 1971 the home economics school in Maria Lankowitz and then from 1971 to 1974 learned the profession of office clerk. Vladyka worked as an office worker at Siemens AG Vienna between 1974 and 1976, during which she spent a year on parental leave. She then worked as an office clerk for the company Wünschek Dreher between 1976 and 1983 and was then an office clerk at the SPÖ district organization Bruck an der Leitha from 1983 to 2006 .

politics

Vladyka began her political career in the municipal council of Bruck an der Leitha, of which she was a member between 1985 and 1992. She then rose to city councilor in 1992, was Vice Mayor between 1995 and 1999 and Mayor of Bruck an der Leitha from 1999 to 2000. She then retired to the office of city councilor after the SPÖ had lost its majority in the local council. After the 2005 election victory, Vladyka took over the post of mayor again, which she finally resigned in 2009.

In addition to her commitment to local politics, Vladyka was a member of the Lower Austrian Landtag between January 25, 1996 and April 10, 2008, before taking over the office of Federal Councilor between April 10, 2008 and September 30, 2009. After Karin Kadenbach's resignation , Vladyka returned to the state parliament on October 1, 2009. Vladyka has also been the district chairwoman of the SPÖ Bruck an der Leitha since 1992 and district party leader of the SPÖ Bruck an der Leitha since 1999. After the state elections in Lower Austria in 2018 , she left the state parliament.
