Christel Fiebiger

Christel Fiebiger (born December 29, 1946 in Uenze , Westprignitz district ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS , Die Linke ). She was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament and the European Parliament .

Life

After completing the 10th grade, Fiebiger trained as a skilled worker for cattle breeding. From 1964 to 1967 she attended the agricultural college in Güstrow-Bockhorst. Then she worked for the LPG Groß Lüben und Glövzin . She then began studying at the LPG University in Meißen , from which she graduated as a qualified agricultural economist. From 1971 to 1982 she was head of the LPG Premslin . In 1989 she became chairwoman of the LPG Groß Warnow , today's Production Agricultural Cooperative. G.

Fiebiger is married and has two children.

politics

In 1969 Fiebiger joined the SED. Since 1968 she has been a member of the Council for Agriculture and Food Industry at the Council of the Perleberg District , from 1982 as Deputy Chairwoman. She was also a member of the Premslin municipal council from 1974 to 1982 and a member of the district council from 1984 to 1990. From 1990 to 1999 she was a member of the state parliament of Brandenburg for the PDS. There she was chair of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry and from 1994 a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control. She was also the agricultural policy spokeswoman for the PDS parliamentary group.

In 1999, Fiebiger was elected to the European Parliament, leaving the state parliament. There she belonged to the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left . She became a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, a member of the Temporary Committee on Foot and Mouth Disease and an alternate member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy. In 2004 she left the European Parliament.
