Christian Büttrich

Christian Büttrich (born July 26, 1935 - † October 23, 2004 ) was a German German studies scholar and librarian .

Live and act

Christian Büttrich studied German and Latin for teaching . At the Free University of Berlin , he was employee Hans-Egon hatred and was in 1972 Eberhard Lämmert with a dissertation on Gerhart Hauptmann doctorate . He was involved in the development of the German library at the Free University of Berlin for 26 years, which he headed until 2000. Their holdings were added to the Philological Library in 2005 .

Christian Büttrich's grave

In the 1980s, Büttrich and Norbert Miller published the collected works of Marie Luise Kaschnitz in seven volumes. In 2000, together with his wife Marianne Büttrich and Iris Schnebel-Kaschnitz, he edited the diaries from 1936–1966 in two volumes.

He was buried in the Steglitz cemetery in Berlin-Steglitz .
