Christian Bakotessa

Pierre Christian Bakotessa Kobolo (born October 20, 1980 in Brazzaville , Republic of the Congo ) is a German - Congolese musician .

Life

Bakotessa grew up with his uncle in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of the Congo, because his parents were too young to take care of him. At the age of 17 he joined the city's church choir. After the military took over the government in Congo, music was banned and Christian Bakotessa fled to Germany in late 2001 . The trained bookbinder found accommodation in Bremen .

Since 2004 he has been a member of the Hanover- based Congolese band Black-X , of which he is a guitarist and singer. In 2009 an Afro-Pop album with French lyrics was released.

In 2012 Bakotessa took part in the sixth season of Das Supertalent together with his girlfriend Martina Kilic . During the break, Bakotessa, who actually only went to accompany his girlfriend, came on stage as a break for entertainment and was discovered by chief judge Dieter Bohlen . At the request of the jury, he officially took part in the casting and sang I Believe I Can Fly by R. Kelly . Bakotessa was convincing and was allowed to sing directly in the live shows because Bohlen pressed the “Golden Star Buzzer”. At the end of the show, Christian Bakotessa was second behind the winner Jean-Michel Aweh .

On December 21, 2012 his album Unbelievable was released .
