Christian Blochwitz (born February 2, 1943 in Dresden ) is a German physicist .

Life

Blochwitz studied from 1965 at the Pedagogical University (PH) Dresden and graduated in 1969 as a graduate teacher for physics and mathematics . He then completed a research degree in metal physics at the PH Dresden until 1972, which was followed by a position as a research assistant at the PH Dresden in the physics section. During this time he received his doctorate in 1973 with the thesis On the Influence of Stacking Defect Energy and Differences in Atomic Size and Shear Modulus on the Alternating Plasticization Behavior of Substitution Mixed Crystals .

From 1974 he worked for a year as a teacher for mathematics and physics at the 22nd secondary school in Dresden. He then worked from 1975 to 1992 as a research assistant at the PH Dresden, Physics Section. In 1977 he became senior assistant and 1985 university lecturer. In 1983, he received his PhD B on the topic of localization of deformation in persistent sliding bands (PSB) as a preliminary crack stage for cyclically deformed automotive metals - in 1991, PhD B was converted to a habilitation . From 1992 to 1993 he was a research assistant in the physics department at the Technical University of Dresden , where he became professor for damage kinetics in solids at the Institute for Physical Metallurgy in 1993. He retired in 2008.
