Christian Cardona (* 1972 ) is a Maltese politician from the Partit Laburista .

Life

Cardona studied law at the University of Malta and studied international maritime law at the International Maritime Organization . He works as a lawyer in Malta. He has been a member of the Malta Parliament since 1996 . Cardona was economy minister in the government cabinets of Joseph Muscat in Cabinet Muscat I , the Cabinet Muscat II and in the Cabinet Muscat III . After the murder of the Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia , an international journalist group was formed to follow up the work of Galizia. In the course of these investigations by journalists, Cardona resigned as Minister of Economics at the end of November 2019.
