Cabinet Muscat I.
The Maltese Cabinet Muscat I was formed on March 13, 2013 by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat of the Partit Laburista (PL). It replaced the second Gonzi cabinet and was in office until April 2, 2014.
history
From the elections for the House of Representatives on March 9, 2013, the previously opposition Partit Laburista Joseph Muscats emerged as the clear winner. It received 167,533 votes (54.83 percent) and was thus able to improve by 6.04 percentage points. In the 69-member House of Representatives, it has a clear absolute majority with 39 seats. The Partit Nazzjonalista (PN) of Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi , which has ruled since 1998, lost 6 percentage points and with 132,426 votes only got 43.34 percent, so that it could only have 30 members in parliament.
Joseph Muscat then took over the post of Prime Minister from Lawrence Gonzi on March 11, 2013 and presented his first cabinet on March 13, 2013. After Marie Louise Coleiro Preca became the new President of Malta on April 2, 2014, succeeding George Abela , Muscat formed its second cabinet on April 2, 2014 .

- ↑ In his declaration of resignation, Godfrey Farrugia stated that he would no longer hold the ministerial office and thanked the Prime Minister for offering him the post of Minister for Social Policy of Marie Louise Coleiro Preca. He also declined this offer. In his letter, he also stated that he saw the office of Minister of Health as an opportunity to strengthen the services, dignity and needs of patients. At the same time, he and his employees created the basis for sustainability in the health sector during his tenure.
