Cabinet Fenech Adami V

The Maltese Fenech Adami V Cabinet was formed on April 15, 2003 by Prime Minister Edward "Eddie" Fenech Adami of the Partit Nazzjonalista (PN). It replaced the fourth cabinet, Fenech Adami , and was in office until March 23, 2004.

In the elections for the House of Representatives on April 12, 2003, the Partit Nazzjonalista of Fenech Adami was able to win another election victory over the opposition Partit Laburista (PL) of former Prime Minister Alfred Sant . The elections confirmed the PN, which again won 35 of the 65 seats in parliament with 146,172 votes (51.8 percent), while the PL gained 134,092 votes (47.5 percent) and again had 30 members. As a result, Prime Minister Fenech Adami formed his fifth cabinet on April 15, 2003.

On March 23, 2004, Fenech Adami resigned as prime minister after being elected president . Then the previous Minister for Social Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Lawrence Gonzi took over the office of Prime Minister and then formed his first cabinet . At the same time Gonzi succeeded Fenech Adami as chairman of the Partit Nazzjonalista.
