Christian Decker

Christian Decker (born August 30, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German economist, university professor and e-learning author. He holds a professorship for international business administration with a focus on international finance and corporate finance at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg).

Life

Decker studied business administration at the University of Hamburg from 1989 to 1994 . The subject of his diploma thesis, supervised by Albert J. Rädler , was: "The Influence of the Corporate Income Tax Base on Competition in the EC Internal Market - A Statement on the Communication of the EC Commission of June 26, 1992 (SEC (92) 1118 final.)".

From 1994 to 1997 he worked as an appraiser and trustee at C&L Deutsche Revision AG (today PricewaterhouseCoopers ) in Hamburg. From 1997 to 2007 he worked in Corporate & Investment Banking at DZ Bank in Frankfurt am Main, initially in the Structured Finance / Project Finance division and then in the Fixed Income / Asset Securitization division .

2007 Christian Decker at the Institute of World Economics and International Management (IWIM) of the Department of Economics was the University of Bremen Dr. rer. pole. PhD. The topic of the dissertation supervised by Axel Sell was “Principles of proper disclosure of economic conditions in international project financing: Examination-theoretical foundation and operationalization of § 18 sentence 1 KWG for future-oriented lending decisions”.

In 2007 he was appointed professor for foreign trade and international management at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg).

He is the founder and co-partner of iCADEMICUS GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, a company specializing in the conception, creation and implementation of electronic teaching and further training offers.

Focus of work

In addition to international corporate and structured finance and corporate and investment banking, his areas of interest include, in particular, questions of university didactics and various forms of learning and teaching with electronic media. He puts u in his lessons. a. the inverted classroom model ( flipped classroom ) and pure e-learning-based formats.
