Christian Duma

Christian Duma (born February 5, 1982 in Cluj-Napoca ) is a former German athlete who specialized in the 400-meter hurdles .

He was several times youth and junior champion. In the adult sector, Duma won the German championship in 2003, 2004 and 2005. In 2003, he was also the German champion both indoors and outdoors with the 4 x 400 meter relay .

Duma also attracted attention internationally as a junior. At the Junior World Championships in Santiago de Chile in 2000 , he was fourth in the 400 meter hurdles and won the silver medal with the German relay. The following year he became Junior European Champion in Grosseto and at the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz in 2003 he won silver over the hurdles and with the German relay.

Duma took part in the European Championships in 2002 , where he was eliminated in the preliminary stages. In 2005 he finished fourth in the German 4 x 400 meter relay at the European Indoor Championships in Madrid. At the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , he reached the semi-finals. At the European Cup in Florence that same year, he finished fourth with a personal best of 49.17 seconds. In 2009 he ended his sports career.

He started for TSV Friedberg-Fauerbach and LG Eintracht Frankfurt .
