Christian Friedrich Karl Prince of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg (born October 19, 1729 in Kirchberg ; † August 18, 1819 ibid) from the Franconian noble family Hohenlohe was sovereign of the Principality of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg and, after the mediatization in 1806, a registrar in Württemberg .

Christian Friedrich Karl was the son of Prince Karl August zu Hohenlohe-Kirchberg (1707–1767) and his wife Charlotte Amalie Countess von Wolfstein (1706–1729). His half-brother Friedrich Wilhelm (1732–1796) rose to the position of Imperial-Austrian Feldzeugmeister in the First Coalition War .

life and work

Prince Christian Friedrich Karl zu Hohenlohe-Kirchberg ruled as Prince zu Hohenlohe-Kirchberg from 1767 to 1806. He was director of the Franconian Imperial Counts College and also Kk Chamberlain and Erbreichsmarschall. From 1805 to 1819 he was the senior of the entire Hohenlohe house . After the Principality of Hohenlohe-Kirchberg was mediatized, the royal seat fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 and finally to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810 . Prince Christian Friedrich Karl became the first Reichsherbmarschall of the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1809. For the electoral periods from 1815 to 1819, he was appointed as a prince with virile voting rights in the Württemberg state assemblies . Hohenlohe-Kirchberg was originally intended to be the oldest member of the Estates Assembly, but after he did not appear at the meetings, the Prince of Waldburg zu Zeil and Trauchburg was appointed by the King.

family

Prince Christian Friedrich Karl married Princess Luise Charlotte zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1732–1777) in 1760 and Philippine Countess of Ysenburg and Büdingen (1744–1819) in 1778. The first marriage resulted in two daughters:

  • Karoline Henriette (1761–1849) married Prince Heinrich XLII in 1779. Reuss to Schleiz (1752-1818)
  • Charlotte Amalie Friederike (1777–1791)

The second marriage had six children, four of whom grew up:

  • Wilhelmine Friederike Sophie (1780-1853)
  • Auguste Eleonore (1782–1847) married Friedrich Reinhard Graf von Rechteren-Limpurg (1751–1842) in 1807
  • Luise (1784–1826) married Prince Ludwig zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1774–1844) in 1816
  • Georg Friedrich Moritz (1786–1836) married Princess Adele zu Hohenlohe-Ingelfingen (1787–1858) in 1812
