Christián Giménez (born February 1, 1981 in Resistencia , Chaco ), also known by the nickname Chaco after his home province , is an Argentine football player who mainly acts in midfield .

Life

The talent of "Chaco" Giménez was recognized early by talent scouts of the Argentine top club Boca Juniors , so that he joined Boca at the age of eight, where he ran through the entire youth division and made his debut as a professional footballer in 1998 . There he spent the first five years of his professional career, which are among the best years in the history of the Boca Juniors, so that he was able to collect a number of titles before his 21st birthday. He won the Argentine championship three times with Boca , twice the Copa Libertadores and in 2000 the World Cup .

Since summer 2004, Giménez has been playing in the Mexican Primera División , where he initially played one season each for Veracruz and the capital city club America . He then worked for three years with Pachuca and currently with Cruz Azul .

With América and Pachuca, he won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup three times in a row between 2006 and 2008 . He also won the Copa Sudamericana with Pachuca in 2006 and a championship title in 2007.
