Christian Gottlob luck

Christian Gottlob Glück (* 1812 ; † 1887 ) was a German Protestant theologian and pioneer of missiology .

Glück was the son of the farmer and Pietist lay preacher Samuel Friedrich Glück from Siehdichfür and Margarethe, née. Delmessier, from Pinache near Mühlacker. She came from an old Waldensian family who immigrated to Württemberg in 1699.

Glück attended the school of the Basel Mission and became a lecturer there in 1838. In 1845 he was ordained a pastor in Basel . In 1852 the University of Bern appointed him associate professor. for church history ; In 1868 Glück became an o.Prof. of the University of Wroclaw . Glück died in 1887 on a lecture tour in Halle (Saale) .
