Christian Grundner

Christian Grundner (born February 16, 1968 in Freising ) is a German ultramarathon runner .

Athletic career

Christian Grundner lives in Neufahrn near Freising and works for the City of Munich . In 1985 he started running as a middle-distance runner. His competition routes became longer and longer with increasing running experience. In 1992 he completed his first marathon run . In 2000 he became German Vice-Team Champion and in 2004 South German Vice-Champion over the marathon distance.

In 2006, Grundner switched to the ultra marathon . In 2007 he took third place at the German 100 km championships in Kienbaum. In the same year he was accepted into the circle of the national team. He celebrated international successes from 2009, especially in the hourly track runs, such as his victory in the 12-hour run in Palermo and his victory in the 2014 European run in Hoyerswerda. He starts for the LVR Geiselhöring .
